Pull Back the Curtain on How Government Works

TVlogoElected leaders in Virginia profess to support the concept of open and transparent government and involvement by everyday citizens in the political process, but do they really?

Critics of how politics in Virginia currently operate contend the commonwealth isn’t as bad as some states, but argue there’s room for a great deal of improvement in Richmond.

To that end, 17 organizations from across the political spectrum — from conservative to liberal to nonpartisan — have formed a coalition they’re calling Transparency Virginia to lobby for changes in how state government, specifically the General Assembly, operates and that would lead to increased openness and providing of information to the general public and news organizations.
